Raw Wrap Basics (Recipe Inside)

Health Heroes! 🦸‍♀️

This recipe is a staple here at Chemical Free Body! Especially in these warm summer months. Nothing feels better than a light, fresh and nutrient dense meal.

(This is a two part recipe)

Get ready for it… we’re making Raw Sunflower Seed Pate Wraps!

 Sunflower Seed Power Pate

Prep time: 12 minutes

Ingredients:

3 C. Hulled Sunflower Seeds (Soaked 4 to 8 hours, rinsed & drained so plan ahead.)

3/4 C. Purified water

1/4 C. Lemon Juice

1 Tablespoon of Bragg’s Liquid Aminos or to taste.

2 tsp Kelp or Dulse Granules or to taste (optional)

Directions:

1. Blend in a food processor until thick and creamy.

2. Put the mixture into a large bowl.

Then Add:

1 C. Diced Celery

1/2 C. Diced White Onions

Stir in celery and onions and serve on a bed of fresh greens, a romaine leaf or in your favorite wrap!

I like to add Bubbies brand dill pickles to this recipe.

You can also substitute any chopped veggies you like for the celery and onions to mix it up. This recipe is also very versatile. You can switch up the flavor just by adding whatever spices you like!

Don’t forget to Superfood it with Sprouts! 🙂

We also like using things like Hummus (without oils,) Bitchin’ Sauce and any other yummy plant based dips you love!

RAW WRAP BASICS

A raw wrap is made up of an outside “shell” which in this case is a green leaf of some kind which is a carrier for consuming the inner ingredients, just as bread holds a sandwich together. The inner ingredients are made up of a healthy combo of veggies, sprouts, pate’s, dressings and seasonings. Here are some uses for raw wraps:

  • Dinner Main Course
  • Take to work
  • Kids’ lunches
  • Sporting Events
  • Traveling

BASIC RECIPE

*1 large leaf of your choice

1/2 cup Sunflower Seed Power Paté, or 1/2 avocado sliced, or 1/2 cup Raw Plant Based of your favorite thick dip or combo of these

1/2 cup sprouts

1/4 cup sauerkraut

1/8 – 1/4 cup dressing of your choice

Shake on some Dulse Flakes or use torn Dulse Leaves

Add any seasoning of choice

*Ideal leaves for wrapping burritos & tacos: Collard greens, romaine leaves, kale leaves, red leaf lettuce leaves and butter lettuce leaves. Note: Bigger leaves work better for burritos. If the leaf is too small you got yourself a yummy taco!

How-To Wrap it Up!

1. Place your leaf as open as possible on a flat surface.

2. Spread your pate, avocado or thick dip in first over the entire leaf. Top with any other ingredients you are including. Depending on the leaf, either roll up or just fold and enjoy.

3. Instructions for rolling a collard burrito: Follow the previous instructions for loading up the leaf. Next fold the stem and top edge of the leaf inward.

4. Roll from one side to the other to complete the burrito. Slice in half or serve whole.

5. Enjoy!

We hope you enjoy this as much as we do!
